Intake Silencer (Air Filter) – POWER – KG

The POWER KG intake silencer is the result of extensive development work aimed at improving the airflow dynamics of the lower housing, ensuring the smoothest possible air flow toward the carburetor. This minimizes pressure losses and allows the carburetor to draw air directly from the chamber downstream of the filter, characterized by very large internal volume, close to the maximum limits permitted by regulations.

This configuration is particularly effective on KZ engines equipped with 30 mm venturi carburetors, which benefit significantly from increased air volume and smoother airflow.

The POWER KG features a very short connecting sleeve, inclined at 5° and perfectly matched, allowing installation with an air intake almost parallel to the ground, ensuring maximum dynamic efficiency. A second sleeve with increased inclination is also supplied; when rotated correctly, it allows installation with a less “aggressive” airflow angle, with the intake slightly angled downward. This provides more space for the driver when required and also adapts to engines with carburetors mounted very parallel to the ground.

The real innovation of the POWER KG comes from the collaboration between KG and SPRINT FILTER, which led to the development of a dedicated internal filter cartridge. Founded in 1952, Sprint Filter is the world’s oldest manufacturer of high-performance air filters and a leading supplier in international motorsport.

For the POWER KG, Sprint Filter developed a custom-designed filter cartridge using a patented polyester mesh with P037 filtering media, offering 4,500 l/m²/sec air flow and an extremely high filtration level of 37 microns. This filter far exceeds the stringent ISO 5011:201 standards while maintaining very low and, most importantly, consistent pressure drop.

The polyester mesh is precisely calibrated, providing uniform 37-micron airflow openings across the entire surface that remain unchanged over time. Unlike the cotton fabric used in the NITRO model, which inherently presents irregularities, the Sprint Filter polyester is smooth, stable and free of loose fibers, ensuring cleaner and more efficient airflow.

The Sprint Filter P037 also features patented waterproof technology, allowing air to pass while repelling water through a permanent treatment of the filter mesh. The filter requires no oil, can be regenerated in seconds using compressed air, and is effectively maintenance-free.

The POWER KG is CIK-FIA homologated with the following approvals:

The filter cartridge used is Sprint Filter RC.241.
The original filter support is available separately under code AC.037 (same as POWER BASE).

The POWER KG is available in 23 mm and 30 mm versions, to suit different categories and engine configurations.
