The Charles Leclerc Kart CL30 S19 DD represents the application of the Charles Leclerc Kart project to the OK / DD category, featuring technical specifications and construction solutions designed specifically for direct-drive engines without gearbox. This chassis is the result of Charles Leclerc’s direct karting experience combined with the collaboration with BirelArt, a leading Italian brand in international karting, renowned for high manufacturing quality and attention to detail.

For Charles, karting is the foundation of his motorsport career: it is where his passion was born and where he developed the skills that eventually led him to Formula 1. From this background comes the desire to contribute to the growth of the discipline through a high-level technical product.

BirelArt’s technical capabilities are confirmed by numerous racing successes, validating the design choices adopted, including those carried over from previous models in the range.

Technical evolution

The CL30 S19 DD is derived from the updated S18 models, featuring continuous development of geometries, materials and components, aimed at achieving:

Free Line developments and updated components

In line with BirelArt’s continuous development philosophy, new technical details and Free Line components have been introduced on the CL30 S18 DD, with the aim to:
✔ improve aerodynamic efficiency
✔ simplify setup operations
✔ increase on-track competitiveness

All improvements have been implemented while maintaining the excellent technical base of the S18 project, preserving usability and reliability.

• Rear hubs d.50: The new Freeline hubs HQ have the double fixing screw with a better axle grips in order to maintain a perfect assilaity and avoid the movement.
  
  
  

• Spindles OK - KZ: the new spindles have a lever geometry slightly different to a better entry corner. It’s also it’s also allows a better regulation on high of the frame. It will be the same for both categories with the addition to an aluminum caliper support on the KZ.
  
• Pods AERO: to reduce cantilever weights, improve the aerodynamic efficiency and a new look, were studies and developed the new Freeline side pods mod. AERO, homologation 007-BS-20.
  
• The karts models DD and SH will be equipped with new front pod and new panel developed and homologated by KG 509

• New HI TECH bushing: a new bushing has been developed and tested for caster and camber adjustment in a single component.
  This bushing allows to increase or decrease the caster by approximately ±4 degrees and to adjust camber from positive to negative by about 12/14 mm.
  These adjustments can be carried out from the upper part of the stub axle “C” (it will no longer be necessary to use eccentrics in the lower part of the “C”), in a very simple and quick way.

• HI TECH steering column: new steering column with 10 mm bearing
