New engine Vortex VTS - VTJ direct drive for OK class and OK-J
On the occasion of the CIK-FIA homologation session, the Vortex engine range is completely renewed.
For the OK and OKJ categories respectively, the VTS and VTJ models make their debut, as the direct successors of the Vortex DTS and DTJ, able of winning no less than five world titles - three in Junior, two in Senior - in the last four years.
Among the various innovations introduced, an unprecedented production process stands out: the paired crankcase boring. This further processing stage of the engine crankcase makes it possible to achieve a higher final quality level of the product, with positive effects both in terms of quality and repeatability of the various models produced as well as in terms of performance. The VTS also sees the introduction of a new exhaust valve design, a solution that ensures greater efficiency at low revs and improved engine performance.
The main featured inherited from the previous versions of both engines remain unchanged: lightness, assembly and use easiness, effective arrangement of mass and centre of gravity, compact dimensions and reliability.

These are the initials that Vortex chose to took up the challenge launched by the International Federation, with the presentation of new categories, OK and OKJ. So Vortex began, with usual passion, the creation of a totally new project, in which creativity and innovation are indispensable weapons.
The main changes in the past regulations have highlighted the qualities of each Vortex department. With the VTS project the company has invested in its best resources, human and technical, and the result was thrilling. The VTS engine puts together the different specifications of the precedent engine, on the one hand it keeps the 125 cc displacement, as for the engines of the last decade. On the other, it has introduced again the direct drive, as in the 90's, the years of the first World Cup triumphs.
In the technical package there are other important components such as the decompression valve, the exhaust valve, the 24mm carburettor and the rev limiter at 16,000 RPM.
VTS, with its compact and finely crafted carters, confirmed its fast acceleration since the debut on the track, in the international challenges of the OK class, proving to be performing and reliable. A point of reference for everybody.

The VTJ engine as well as its KFJ predecessors, keeps unchanged the 125 cc displacement but goes back to the direct drive. The engine, as per regulation, mounts the rev limiter at 14,000 RPM and the 20mm carburettor.
The track did not disappoint expectations and on the occasion of the international competitions reserved to the new OKJ class, the VTJ Vortex immediately showed off his qualities, becoming the absolute protagonist of the category. Reliability, performance and easiness of use, make the VTJ the best engine for the CIK Academy category.
